Incorporated under the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Act in 1946, ALCOSAN is governed by a seven-member board of directors -- three appointed by the mayor of Pittsburgh, three appointed by the Allegheny County Executive, and one joint city-county appointee -- with each serving a five-year term.

Darrin Kelly, US Navy Veteran is the President of the Allegheny-Fayette Labor Council He is a lifelong resident of the City of Pittsburgh and a proud Pittsburgh Firefighter for over 24 years. 

In his duties of representing over 100,000 men and women of all aspects of Labor, he also serves on a number of Boards such as; Partners4Work Workforce Development Board, United Way of Western PA, Allegheny Health Network's Cancer Center Advisory Committee, PA AFL-CIO Executive Board, National AFL-CIO Labor Council Steering Committee, Co-Chair of Mayor Ed Gainey's Transition Committee for Workforce Development and Education, County Executive Transition Team, Union Veteran's Council, Vice-President Pittsburgh Firefighters Pension Board, Pittsburgh Commission Board on Infrastructure-to name a few.

Board Meetings 

ALCOSAN conducts Board of Director’s Meetings once a month, typically the last Thursday of the month.  Public participation and comment at ALCOSAN’s Board of Directors meetings is welcomed and encouraged.  Participants who wish to speak during board meetings must register in the lobby of the Administration Building prior to the start of the meeting.  All meetings begin at 4:30 p.m. and are held in the William C. Trefz Boardroom at ALCOSAN. For more information, please call 412-734-8363.

Committee Meetings

The Green Committee, Advisory and Professional Services Committees are important to the operation of ALCOSAN.  The Green Committee works closely with ALCOSAN’s Green Revitalization of our Waterways (GROW) program, while the Professional Services Committee determines which contracts will be presented to the full ALCOSAN board for approval.
