The Scholastic Outreach Division at ALCOSAN coordinates, facilitates, and implements high-quality programs that introduce students to the vital work of wastewater treatment. Students who attend school or reside in any of the 83 municipalities we serve can participate in these programs at no cost.
In addition to classroom and out-of-school lessons, the Scholastic Outreach Division manages internships, job shadowing, project-based learning experiences, and treatment plant tours. We also accommodate special requests from students and educators. These opportunities provide valuable hands-on experiences for students while supporting educators through our Science and Environmental Education Advisory Collaborative (SEEAC) professional development workshops.

Our goal is to build strong partnerships with schools, organizations, colleges, universities, and libraries to enhance understanding of wastewater treatment and sustainability. Through innovative STEM activities aligned with ALCOSAN’s Clean Water Plan, we engage students and educators in meaningful learning experiences.
By fostering an interactive learning environment, our programs encourage problem-solving, differentiated instruction, and skill development across multiple subjects. The Scholastic Outreach Division also collaborates with other ALCOSAN departments to provide internships and workforce experiences. This holistic approach helps students tackle real-world challenges and sparks interest in STEM and skilled trade careers.
