Most ratepayers do not receive a bill directly from ALCOSAN. That only occurs in three communities - Aspinwall, Ben Avon and Thornburg are the only existing customers directly billed by ALCOSAN.  In the other 80 municipalities that ALCOSAN serves, ALCOSAN bills the municipality and that fee is then passed on to the homeowners in a utility bill from another agency.  For those communities, visit our Municipal Customers page for more details.

About Direct Bill Customers

While there are only three direct bill communities in our service area, ALCOSAN’s service and charges for that service remains consistent for all customers.

Understanding Your Bill

How to Pay Your Bill

Direct Bill Customers may pay their bills by mail. ALCOSAN no longer accepts in-person payments. Sewage bills issued directly by ALCOSAN are subject to a 5 percent late fee after the due date and are turned over to your municipality for collection after 60 days. Payments can be mailed to the ALCOSAN Customer Service and Billing Department at 3101 Preble Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bill Pay Assistance

If you need help paying your water bill, ALCOSAN’s Clean Water Assistance Fund is available for eligible homeowners. ALCOSAN has committed nearly a million dollars in order to provide this vital customer assistance program for low-income individuals and families.
