The Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) is pleased to announce the recipients of Grow Cycle 11 funding, awarding more than $7.5 million in grants to support critical sewer separation and sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects across Allegheny County.

The GROW Program, a pillar of ALCOSAN’s Clean Water Plan, funds projects that reduce the volume of stormwater and groundwater entering the sewer system, helping to prevent overflows and protect the region’s waterways. Under the program, any municipality or municipal sewer authority within the ALCOSAN service area is eligible to submit a source control project for grant funding consideration.

In close collaboration with our municipalities, to date GROW has awarded over $83.2 million in grant funding for source control projects such as green infrastructure, infiltration and inflow, sewer separation and direct stream inflow removal. The completed GROW projects are estimated to have removed over 1.1 billion gallons of water per year from the system and reduced overflow by over 200 million gallons per year
