ALCOSAN’s Summer Sweepstakes contest is back for a second year, and the prizes are better than ever.

The Summer Sweepstakes kicks off on July 24 and runs until ALCOSAN’s popular Open House on Saturday, September 21. That’s 60 days to win, in honor of the 60th anniversary of operations at ALCOSAN’s wastewater treatment plant on Pittsburgh’s North Side.

Enter to win each week by completing a few simple activities at 3riversproud.com. There, you’ll be asked to view a photo gallery that shows how the plant came to be built and videos including an animated one featuring Frankie the Fish and his underwater friends. (All of the voices are actual ALCOSAN employees – all of them human!) Just for fun, use the online tool that shows the path wastewater from your home’s toilets and sinks makes its way to ALCOSAN to be cleaned.

The prizes, donated by our media sponsor Entercom, include tickets for a Gateway Clipper sightseeing tour, the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, Sandcastle waterpark and Carrie Underwood at PPG Paints Arena. Or you might win a membership to the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, dinner at the Monterey Bay Fish Grotto or a one-night stay including dinner and breakfast at the Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh and its Or, the Whale restaurant.
