National Engineers Week

Pre-K Explore Day (3 to 6 years old)

ALCOSAN is proud to present Pre-K Explore Day, a series of virtual hands-on STEM activities and interactive workshops.

Pre-K Explore Day is available to students who reside in our service area. Families who register will receive their EXPERIENCE BOX mailed to their home, which includes materials needed to engage in the activities.

Earth Day

ALCOSAN will celebrate Earth Day April 22nd – April 26th with outreach and programming for students in grades Pre-K to 5 who reside in our service area.

Learn the importance of keeping our environment healthy through a hands-on activity.

Frankie’s Science Days

ALCOSAN is proud to present Frankie’s Science Days, a series of virtual, interactive STEM workshops that offer a sneak peek at our Summer Science camp. During each workshop, students will use the materials we send home to dive into hands-on activities that spark curiosity and deepen their understanding of science. This school year, Frankie’s Science Days will focus on environmental sustainability and exploring the science all around us. 

Sessions are open to students in grades 2–3 who live in our service area; first-grade students may participate in the spring sessions.

National Chemistry Week

ALCOSAN will celebrate National Chemistry during the week of October 20-24, 2025, for students in grades PreK-12 in our service area. The theme for 2025 is “The Hidden Life of Spices”.

Chemistry is an important part of the wastewater treatment process. When you sign up for an outreach, your students will learn more about the role of chemistry at ALCOSAN and can participate in their own hands-on chemistry activity.

Disability Mentoring Day

Every October ALCOSAN participates in Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) to provide students an insight of hands-on career exploration and mentoring opportunities available through our partnership with Bender Consulting.

Storm Drain Stenciling Program

ALCOSAN’s Storm Drain Stenciling Program is designed to educate people about the potential for storm drain contamination and the pollution of local waterways. Scholastic Outreach provides step-by-step instructions to help participants obtain permission to paint stencils on storm drains. It provides all supplies along with notices to be given to residents.
