The best way to learn how the treatment plant operates and why it is important is to watch the process in action. ALCOSAN offers free tours, by appointment, from March through October, weather permitting.

The Educational Tours are FREE and are available between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m for students in grades 4 through 12. Tuesday through Thursday. Due to possible in-plant restrictions and availability of tour guides, all tours must be arranged in advance. Groups of 10 or more must agree to all ALCOSAN Safety Rules and complete a safety agreement prior to tour confirmation. Participants must be in fourth grade or higher.

Educational Tour Request Form

The plant is situated on approximately 59 acres, and this is a walking tour. It is recommended that visitors using crutches, walkers or other devices that assist with mobility refrain from the standard walking tour and opt instead to visit during our annual Open House in the fall, at which time we offer more suitable accommodations for our guests requiring assistance.
