300 people full-time. Union employee members of the Utility
Workers of America Local 433 and the Teamsters Local 249.

serving a population of 896,500 in 83 communities including
the City of Pittsburgh.

56 acres along the Ohio River on the Pittsburgh North Side.
Process
an average of 200 million gallons of wastewater daily
24 hours a day, 356 days a year.
Governed
by a seven-member Board of Directors each serving a five
year term. The Mayor of Pittsburgh appoints three, the
Allegheny County Commissioners appoints three, and one
joint City/County appointment.
Appointed
by the Board to carry out Authority policies.
Financed
by user charges. Capital funds are raised through bond
sales. The Authority is a non-profit governmental body
(not a country agency).
