Public Relations
The Public Relations department strives to ensure
positive relationships, and to support the Authority's mission with
the timely dissemination of information between internal and external
audiences to encourage discussion, participation and change.
The Public relations department's responsibilities include a consistent,
accurate and timely flow of information to internal and external audiences.
The Department serves as the point of contact between the Authority
and municipal representatives to achieve responsive action and improve
relationships. The Manager of the department oversees planning and policy
making action, and counsels internal staff on the appropriate course
of action to be taken regarding communication initiatives and issues.
The Department operates within a team environment to complete tasks
and to work with other departments, the Executive Director and the Board
of Directors to ensure that such tasks are completed to the satisfaction
of the Authority.
- Media Relations-to process and respond to
all media inquiries.
- Internal Communications-to write and distribute
weekly employee newsletters, and to work with the Executive Director
and Human Resources Manager to create and facilitate internal communications.
- Publications-to develop and write department
and organization publications.
- Image and Awareness-to create and implement
programs to increase visibility, support the branding and positioning,
and positively reinforce and support the Authority's mission, values
and goals.
- Outreach-to generate opportunities to interact
with the Authority's audiences. The Outreach Programs are planned
and implemented to foster community relations and to educate ratepayers.
In addition presentations, events and meetings are included as an
important component to the Outreach function. Educational programs
are also organized and scheduled for the public schools.
